february flashback...

Dear Caroline,

We're all so excited for your birthday to come tomorrow!

Thanks to your amazing mommy Megan, we've been beyond blessed to be with you for each one along the way.


Your birth day.  (when we fell in love with you!)




   First birthday.  (was all Elmo!)

 Second birthday.  (Sesame Street was the theme)    Third birthday.  (animals!)

 Fourth birthday.  (princesses)Fifth birthday.  (music!)

And tomorrow... will make 6!  Woohoo!  Can't wait to celebrate!!!

february flashback #13...

It's February!  So you long-time CrazyforCaroliner's know what that means... it's time for some February flashbacks!

Here goes...


A couple of February's ago, I was just enjoying all the time in the world with my little gal.


And this February, she and I are THRILLED to spend our days loving on our new little guy!


It was last February that Marc and I made our first call to the agency to inquire about adopting again.


And this February?  Oh my.  Our hearts are so full.


Last February, this gal would pray with us just about every night that God would send us just the right birthmommy at just the right time.  At that point, she wanted a brother and a sister.  :)


And this February?  He has answered her sweet little prayers.  (with just a brother, but nobody around here is complaining!)  :)


I couldn't fathom God's goodness to me five Februarys ago.


And I'm still trying to wrap my head around it today.

february flashback #12...

Oh Leah, the first time we met, it must a' been friends at first sight.

Because look at us now!

We've been snacking on park benches for quite some time now, eh?

And I don't want it to end!

Best friends then...

...and now!

And in just a little over a week, we'll BOTH turn 4!!

Ahhh, it's that time of year again. February. And you know what that means in our family... there's a certain little girl in our house who is just ITCHING to turn 4 this month!! (Oh how she's been talking about February 18th all year, and to think--- it's now almost here!)

I've (Amy) had 5 Februarys to enjoy my daughter.

The first February, I spent long hours with her, giving bottle after bottle, rocking and singing.

The second February, I spent discovering this new world with her.

The third February, I spent dancing with her and exploring new words with her.

Last February, I spent snuggling and celebrating with her.

And this February?

I don't care. I'm just happy to spend it WITH her.

Thank you, God and birthmommy Megan, for giving me this special, special gal.

february flashback #10...

Last February, I was having trouble holding up two fingers to show my age!


THIS February, I know almost ALL the alphabet in sign language!! (anyone know what letter this is?)


Last February, I acted silly by perching on the top of my crib.


THIS February, I like hanging upside-down. :)


Last February, I was the most precious gift to my Mommy & Daddy.


And THIS February? I got even a little more precious. :)

february flashback #9...

It's February 1st, and that means my BIRTHDAY month is here!!!! (on the 18th) (And after a year like we've just had, you better believe we're gonna PAR-TAY!) So, just like in past years, we're gonna take a look back as we celebrate our journey into becoming 3! :)

Because this entire past year was spent around the theme of hair, we thought we'd begin the flashbacks by going back a little farther to remind everyone of how far we've come. Even Mommy & Daddy sometimes forget what I used to look like because they're so used to me rocking the bald. Now, with a clear diagnosis of alopecia totalis..


THIS Caroline at 20 months...


is just as beautiful as THIS Caroline at 35 months.


And THIS girl with a full head of wavy brown hair...


is no more loved than THIS sweet girl. :)
