teething, round 2?

Yep. Mommy & I think it's here in full force.
I have suddenly stopped eating well.
I have suddenly stopped sleeping well.


I try to bite down on everything I can find, but I get little relief.
I'm refusing to take some naps.
It's frustrating for me.
And hard on Mommy.
So we think it's probably my top teeth coming in, but we don't know how long it will take 'em to show up...


Ahhh, finally some sleep.... zzzzzz......zzz.....

what daddy's missing...

Daddy, here's a few things you missed from Girls' Week, Day 1...

1) I pulled Mommy's glasses off of her face for the first time
2) I laughed SO much when Mommy kissed my tummy
3) I ran my fingers gently through Mommy's hair (as opposed to the usual pulling!)
4) My poop production has TRIPLED in frequency (sorry if that's too much information for you all, but it's true...and Daddy cares to know this...)
5) Oh, and I decided to wake up & have a "party" in my crib at 4:00am with a symphony of shrills until around 6:00am... (I told you it was Girls' Week!) When I finally shrilled loud enough & long enough for Mommy to come in the room & check on me, I went WILD with smiles & kicks because my plan had worked! Ha ha!

girls' week...

Daddy, while you're gone all week for RUF staff training in Atlanta, I'm declaring that this will be girls' week! No boys allowed!


For the next 5 days, Mommy & I are going to be party animals together!


And I promise we'll stay out of trouble... :)


So let's hear it for the girls! (but come home soon...)

fashion disaster...

Mommy & I usually get a good laugh when Daddy tries to dress me.


Last night, he spent a ton of time getting my pj's on me, all to find out he had put them on me backwards! Here was the scene trying to get them back in place! (see me in there?) :)


Mommy, what ARE we going to do with Daddy? :)


But even though it took awhile, he got it right & I'm a fashionista once again!


Oh, Daddy. You love me so much- how can I blame you? :)

short but sweet...

We made a quick trip down to Raleigh today & I got to see some of my family! Here's Luke & Eva, my 2nd cousins!


Eva & Luke (& Jonah), can Mommy hire you to come live in Virginia with me? I think I could watch your faces for HOURS. You guys were so good with me!


I love my Aunt Susie!


and I LOVED seeing you, Great Grandma & Grandpa Barnett! Boy, it was too short, but very sweet!

WHY CAN'T I PUT THE DUCKIE IN MY MOUTH?!? (I can hardly stay in my saucer now because I end up screaming over this one now...)


And I'm equally frustrated about how you're supposed to eat an elephant... (one bite at a time)

while i'm sleeping...

While I'm asleep on Thursday nights, we have a summer RUF at our house. We have a theme for dinner, and the college students bring food in that theme! Last night we had breakfast for dinner, and just look at the spread! yummm...


Fun times in the kitchen... (some of the girls came early and made pancakes for everyone! And yes, that is Daddy over there with an apron on COOKING! Breakfast is his specialty!)


After dinner, Daddy leads a discussion-based Bible study on the porch, and it is always a great time. And pretty soon, can't you imagine how I'll want into the action?

no longer "shut-ins"...

Meet Daddy's new friend, Moose! Last night our family went over to Moose's house and had a great time with his family!


Donovan, I'm not so sure about this...


But thank you, Donovan, for letting me sleep in your crib! It was the first time that Mommy & Daddy put me down to sleep for the night someplace other than my house, (yikes-- it could've been rough, guys) and I did GREAT! I slept until about 10pm, and then Daddy woke me up when it was time to go home. And what's great, I didn't have any problems getting back to sleep when I got home this time! So Mommy & Daddy are no longer forced to be "shut-ins" after 6:00pm! :) Yea for some flexibility!


Pait and Donovan, I loved your door jumper! (it's by FAR my favorite thing to do-- you should see me jump!) And I loved visiting you.

couch potatoes...

We went out to lunch today! You'll notice that almost everytime I go out now, I've got on a bow or headband. Mommy got tired of people asking if I was a boy or girl, so now she usually gets the biggest pink bow she can find & sticks it on my head as we're rushing out of the door. And wha-lah (how DO you spell that?): no more questions. Only "aahhhh's," smiles, and compliments from strangers now. That's more like it. :)


Still having a blast with Papa & Nanny...
