been here one year...

Would you believe that ONE YEAR AGO TODAY (May 1st) our family left Texas and moved out to Virginia? (last year's May 1st post here) In some ways it seems like it happened just yesterday, but mostly it's starting to feel like we've been here forever. (perhaps it's from watching all the major changes that have happened in my life this year going from infant to toddler. What a year of changes!) We are still settling in and adjusting to this new place, (and we miss all our friends & students in Texas dearly!!) but we've had a wonderful first year and look forward to many more.


I don't remember much of the move, but Mommy tells me she & I flew out on a big airplane while Daddy drove our truck.


Last year, I could only sit at the front door and observe.


This year is a completely different story! But one thing's for sure...


I'm LOVIN' it here.

Mama's keys are used to open doors...


Clothes that are too small go in the bin...


Clean dishes go in the cabinet...


and special occasion photo-shoots ALWAYS call for toddler meltdowns... :)

i need a vacation...

Whew! These people have got me workin' like a dog around here! It's my job now to push the dishwasher closed...


and comb Mama's hair...


and pick up toys and put them in the basket!


All this work and no play is NOT fair! I mean, aren't there such things as child labor laws around here?!? :)

Oh my goodness- I can't believe it! Spring is finally here! And you know what that means-- it's time for me to run around and...

and enjoy all the great outdoors has to offer.


Oh, and look where Mommy & Daddy are going WITHOUT ME this June for their 10th anniversary?! :) Boston! I'm sure they'll be weeping as the whole crowd sings "Sweet Caroline" in the middle of the 8th inning! (and can you believe they are playing the TEXAS Rangers that night, too?! How perfect!)

I just received a great stash of dress up clothes! Oh, what a princess I'll be!


And NO WAY will I stand still long enough for you to take a picture of me, Mommy! I've got to GO GO!


Meanwhile, Mommy & Daddy thought it was about time to begin remodeling my 1960's pepto-pink bathroom this weekend, so Daddy had lots of fun starting the demo. :) (those of you who know my Mommy & Daddy well know that pink bathrooms tend to follow us wherever we go! ha!)
