sleeping booty...

Hello, again! This is Caroline.

This blog is a combo of around three different topics.
I couldn't choose which one I wanted to share with you, so I'll share all of them.

My mom is starting an airbnb in our old house. This is the picture right before I happened to break the bone on the side of my foot. I was having a race with my friend and brother and I slipped on my Heely's and fell. The way I fell, I can't remember. But I do remember IT HURT.

My parents took me to the urgent care and I got this scan; if you look where my orthopedic doctor marked the arrow, you can see a crack/fracture in my foot. My foot was and still kind of is now swollen. My foot was probably in tears by then.
This is when I got home, excited about my new crutches. (BTW, NEVER like crutches. They REALLY hurt and annoy you.) I couldn't walk to the bathroom; I had to grab or have someone get my crutches. I got super annoyed. Boy! Glad I don't have to wear that bulky boot and especially use those crutches anymore.
During my tragic experience with a fractured foot, my brother was having a happy first time losing a tooth. That kid can bring a twinge of happiness in sad times. He's the greatest.
This is me and my little nurse brother trying to get into Coldstone Creamery. A lot of effort to get into an ice cream shop. (It was worth it, though) I couldn't walk on my foot so it was bounce after bounce on my left foot. Ugh.

And to make things harder, I had committed to the summer play at my school! We selected Sleeping Beauty, and I happened to get the role of Sleeping Beauty. I had a stand-in for the dance scenes, luckily. This is me in the Animal Scene and my friend Meliyah in the bunny costume behind me.

Huge congrats to my friend Sophia who played the role of Maleficent. She was amazing. I mean, everyone did awesome in the play, but she stole the show.

I was in the scene where I got pricked by the spinning wheel and I fell on the bed, and when I fell, my parents saw my boot pop out from under my dress. We had a joke in our family that I was 'Sleeping Booty'. For little kiddos that think that's funny, keep on laughing! It is funny! But it's not the butt kind of booty. It's the boot kind of booty.

Our big finale was a huge hit. Our dancing and singing made it the star song. We all did amazing in my opinion. You must go see the plays at T.C. Miller. They are outstanding!

Meliyah is one of my best friends. She is so awesome and really nice. She played Queen Stephanie/bunny in Sleeping Beauty.

#myplaceisonstage

My family is the best. They are really supportive and will help me with my lines in the plays I participate in. I hope next year I get a lead role because playing a role at T.C. Miller is probably the greatest thing ever. Do you have a child who is in grades K-5? Sign them up for the lottery list or enroll them in the waiting list (as my parents like to call it). Thanks for listening to me!

eight year old guest blogger: the snake at my house...

Hello, again!  This is Caroline.  I want to tell you about some crazy stuff.

So, my SC family came and my aunt was walking back to my house after she had put some luggage in my grandma's car, and she saw this 8' long black snake. She thought, "Marc has put a rubber snake on the doormat." And the "rubber" snake stuck its tongue out at her and from inside we heard her scream. The snake slithered off of the doormat and my aunt hurried inside.

"People!" she panted. "There is an 8' long black snake going to the dining room window."

There were several gasps and screams and "whats" and "eeks". She and my dad went outside and my dad was like, "Oh, it is looking in the window. " Mom said, "Caroline, go inside and look at it face to face." So I went inside but I hurried back to my mom and said, "I can't do it."  I was too afraid. And after I said that, do you see those bushes in the background? The snake slithered through those and my dad followed.

Here is a picture up close. Go on with the story. Okay! My dad found a stick and picked up the snake with the stick, thankfully. My mom and I went inside with my cousin, aunt, uncle, and grandma and laughed as my dad threw the biting snake (not venomous) over the fence two doors down from our house. (Nobody lives in that house.)  We thought the story ended there.

But there's more to go, people. (we experienced that)

And that night we were on a walk and when we got back to our house there was an 8' long black snake at our house on the porch AGAIN.  I saw it first. My mom said, "Marc! You gave it one chance and now it is time to kill it." "Alright." My dad said.  We went inside and he got his BB gun and shot it right in front of my window! Then he had the snake's burial service.

Here is a picture of the grave for the snake. My dad asked, "Do any of you have a few words to say about  the snake?" I said, "Mr. Snake, I'm glad you're gone." My dad said, "I'll say good riddance." My mom and Jameson had nothing to say.  I changed the cross to an X the next day because I hated that snake

Well that's the end of the first part.

I want to change the subject so that you all won't freak out. Do you see Jameson's ADORABLE little guitar pants? I sewed them. My amazing sewing teacher, Mrs. Maria, helped me! Hey, people in the crowd who like to buy adorable stuff! These are absolutely not for sale. He loves the pajama pants so much!
Jameson went to play-group today and I made excuses to get him all dressed up. I said that all these fabrics would help him get extra super powers. Haha!

And last but not least, we (Jameson and I) think that my parent's treadmill is a jungle gym. LOL.
(For people who have no idea what LOL means, LOL means "laugh out loud") Well, I should expect that everyone knows what LOL means.        Haha! I'll see you next time I write to you! (NONE of that makes sense, huh.) BYE! boohoo. boohoo.

seven year old guest blogger: blue ridge parkway fun...

Hi, everybody! This time our fun adventure is in...THE MOUNTAINS!!!! Our journey is with another family, too. This is a pretty picture of the mountains. It was a beautiful peek over the ground and this is the perfect time of year to go because the leaves are changing colors and the weather is perfect, too.
Jameson, Jackson, Maggie, and me are taking a fun kids picture near the side of the mountain. It's a great place to take a picture. There are several overlooks and we took pictures at two places.
Woooo! Slow down! You're pulling me over! Hey, Jameson! You could pull us all over. Watch it! Watch it! You totally could pull us off the mountain and make us die! Well, if I was dead, I would not be writing this blog.
Family picture time! Mommy, me, and Jameson! Love my family! SO MUCH! I love having a little brother (who is quite annoying and funny) and he is the silliest in my family besides Daddy.

Mrs. Kelsey and Jackson are having a fun time in the mountains together and all fun is going well!

Mrs. Kelsey and Jackson and Maggie are not getting all the family fun. So sorry Maggie has her face down, Mrs. Kelsey commented. Maggie had her face down because she did not want me making a silly face at her.
OH! Such a beautiful sight of the daylight! We went down to the lake and we took the Parkway path to this lake near the Peaks of Otter.  Lake in sight, bushes and trees in sight! Why not just head up there? Such a WONDERFUL sight! Fish also in the lake!
Now starring me, Jackson, Jameson, and Maggie, sitting on a turned over boat. Well, what a nice place to sit! Oh, such a jolly place to sit when you need a picture! And right behind you....BOO! A lake! Not so scary, but the lake waves went boo. Hey, no waves!
Oh     my     gooshness. (Gooshness is a weird word meaning gosh AND goodness.) Is this your favorite kind of berry? Red, ripe, and oh so pretty! It's not really my favorite. What is your favorite kind of berry? My favorite kind of berry is the pink kind. DO NOT EAT THESE BERRIES ! That was officially an alert when you go up the mountain. It's okay to pick and hold them but DO NOT EAT THESE BERRIES! Again, that was an alert when you go up the mountain.

We had fun picking the berries. I am not going to tell the secret that will come up in one of the next pictures.
Well, now you really can get to see the berries up close. They are red, ripe, and pretty! There was one berry that was bad on one of the sides and I tried to turn that one so you all couldn't see it.

Well well. The secret I was not going to spoil. The fish! There were 5 King fish in the lake I counted but there might've been more that we couldn't see. And the funnest part was when we got to feed the berries to the fish. (I already told you about that part so don't ask me again.) Ha! Well, they sort of nibbled the berries, but never actually ate the berries. We were so excited that we didn't even notice they weren't eating the berries.

Me, Maggie, and Jameson all LOVED the fish that we all just hung around the bridge and almost never wanted to go get ice cream. Who would never want to get ice cream?

We drove to the Country Store and got PEACH ICE CREAM.
Well, the grownups enjoyed it too! Maybe the kids had a tad more fun than the grownups, but we all had a good time at the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mommy and Mrs. Kelsey are best friends and love being together. Me and Maggie are best friends, plus Jameson and Jackson are best friends, too.
Well, Happy Halloween! (I forgot to put that part at the beginning) Ha. VA is such a wonderful place to live, with the mountains. (sorry if you do not live in VA)  Bye!

seven year old guest blogger: hilton head

Hi! This is Caroline! Today I will be writing about
 my beach trip at...HILTON HEAD!
I am very excited to write to you all. I would like to
tell you several things about Hilton Head.

This is us going up to our villa room.
Jameson and me pushed, shoved, and SCREAMED
to push the buttons because we love to push the buttons on the elavator.
And my next one... HENNA! There was a girl
named Edie and she did my henna. I had to get it redone
because it all fell off the day I got it!
Henna is like a blackish kind of tattoo. Henna
doesn't stay on FOREVER like a real tattoo. It comes
off in about 3 weeks.

I really like alopecia because you can get
henna done ON YOUR HEAD!  It kinda tickles
but mostly it's cool.
Me and Mom got to escape for a short time while Jameson
was napping. We took a few pictures (probably several) and I
was in most of them. We'd like to share one with you!

And this one is Jameson crying in the timeout
circle. Me and Jameson were digging with a shovel and Daddy said is was my turn. Jameson said no, so Daddy gave him one more chance, Jameson said no.  We made a circle and said "Stay here!" So here he is, crying in the timeout circle.

This picture of me and Jameson in
the "twisty tree" is special. It is special because we take a picture of me and Jameson every year in the tree so we can look at it and see how much we've grown.  I absolutely LOVE the twisty tree. I climbed up to here and had to jump down
probably about 5 feet.

And the fountains....THE FOUNTAINS!
The fountains were higher than any kids fountains I had ever seen. I just loved running through the fountains, even though this isn't a picture of me doing that.

We put our feet together to stop a fountain from SPLASHing us.
Jameson loved the fountains. He was afraid at first but then got more used to it.

This is me getting ready to do a handstand-not ready to fall
on my arm which will happen in a second-BOOM! Can you
picture THAT?

This is me on top of practicing cartwheels-and handstands.  I am having a little trouble on cartwheels-not keeping my legs straight. Thank you!

In Hilton Head we went swimming ALOT. Jameson figured out that he didn't need help to jump in by himself. I had my weird looking goggles on and... SPLASH! KABOOSH! Into the pool we went!

I can't wait to write to you all again! Bye!

seven year old blogger: videos...

Hi, Everyone!
This is my favorite blog post. I would like to share with you
two awesome videos.

1. My school report.
2. Piano.

I LOVE these videos! My school report was about a
heroic lady. Abigail Adams. That day was American Hero's day so
we all took home a paragraph to look at and take out three important words in the sentence.
We underlined the three important words so we could remember which ones were the words we were using.

Then, we wrote our own sentence using the three words we picked in our sentence. We all dressed up in red, white, and blue. We invited all our parents to our classroom to see our paragraphs.
Here is a video of my paragraph...

'

Now here is #2. I love it! Now, this is the piano piece: "The Waltz", and
the next piano piece: "Old Woman". My mom teaches me piano lessons.
I started with piano lesson books 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Then I learned a book that I will be playing these
two pieces.

7 year old blogger at OBX...

Hi! My family is at the beach for seven days. There are wild horses on the beach.
I love to see the wild horses. You cannot be closer than 50 feet from them.

I decided to write a blog post about our time at the beach yesterday. Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere...

Well, the water was FREEZING and my teeth were chattering, but, I wanted to ride my boogie-board. So, I did. I wanted to have fun, so I did.
We looked in the car and saw a super-hero boogie-board and I thought Jameson (my little brother) would like it. He does whatever I do, so, I got my boogie-board, he got his, I got in the water, he didn't dare to go in the water. He does whatever I do!!! I guess maybe not this time. (Haha!)
There were HUGE jumping fish in the waves, splashing and playing. A fisher-bird swooped down, grabbed a fish, and flew off. The picture is the fisher-bird grabbing a fish. I thought, Wow! This is amazing!
At first I thought I saw a shark fin and then, we screamed. "It's a...DOLPHIN!!!!!" Sorry, but it is NOT a shark. I know you all like sharks. (Haha!)
That is me. Scanning the water for dolphins. As soon as I saw one swimming away from me, I raced down the beach where it was. Mom was running down the beach behind me with her camera.
"Eek, Eek, Eek!" Here is a picture of two dolphins playing. "ADORABLE!" I shrieked. They were playing wildly. Their fins were up out of the water.
Me and Jameson LOVE building sandcastles. "Ah we building nec, Caline?" Jameson said. Do you need the translation? Ok. Here it is: "What are we building next, Caroline?"
I'm telling dad which wave to ride. He chose....that one!

Finally, the end. Time to say good-bye to all your friends. But before you go, my mom wants to say something. "My 7 year old blogger loves to write to you."   See you all very soon! Bye!
