happy thanksgiving!
What a great first Thanksgiving! We had 21 people over to our house and Mommy & Auntie Jill cooked for everybody!
Yummmmm....
Of course, I had my eye on the dessert table!
my great Grandpa Barnett prayed before the big meal...
I had a BLAST with all my family here! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, too!

fun with blankets...
Me as a baby...
Mommy as a baby...
Where's Caroline?
Here I am!
credits: many thanks to my Pop who labored for countless minutes doing the hard, back-breaking work of searching high and low for the old picture of Mommy, accurately scanning it into the computer, and sacrificing his time to email it to Mommy. We here at "Crazy for Caroline" must certainly give credit where credit is due. ;-) ha! Thanks, Pop. You're the greatest & I can't WAIT to see you guys tomorrow!

first word...
Well, guys, I've been doing alot of babbling and talking recently, but Mommy & Daddy didn't give me official "credit" for my first word until today. This morning at breakfast, I started using it over and over, and I repeated it after Mommy said it again a few minutes later! So count it! My first word was.........
MAMA!!! (yay!)
Yeah, and today has been historic for other reasons, too... I found out I can crawl down the hallway and into other ROOMS! Let me in, Mommy! It's like a whole new world is opened up to me! (now Mommy & Daddy need to really get going on more baby-proofing)
PLUS, I think I'm changing from two naps a day to one long nap now because for the past two days, I've stayed up until lunchtime and crashed all afternoon... life is changing VERY fast these days! It's all happening at once!

wreck 'em...
Even from Virginia, our guns are up for Texas Tech! If you haven't payed much attention to college football, Tech is undefeated and currently holding the NATION'S longest winning streak! We're ranked #2 in the nation & tonight (in just a few minutes!) we're playing #5 Oklahoma IN Oklahoma, so we're a bit nervous, but hoping for the best...
Today our family showed our team spirit and I showed off my cute boots! :) Because she was wearing her Tech sweatshirt, people were even stopping Mommy in the grocery store today and showing their support! It's so crazy that even in Lynchburg, Virginia, people now know about Texas Tech!
We are just wondering if we jinxed the team for the past 7 years because the year we leave Lubbock, they have the best season in school history! ha! And just in case anyone is wondering, even Liberty students cheer on other schools like Virginia Tech or UVA, so no one seems to have a problem with us remaining Texas Tech fans. We have even converted a few of our current students to be Tech fans! :)
So everybody get your guns up with us! Wreck 'em, Tech! Hopefully the victory bells will ring tonight!
Addendum: as we're sitting here watching Tech get KILLED by Oklahoma and making practically every mistake in the book, we're disappointed and depressed. So don't rub it in, alright? :)

family photos...
For the past few days I have really fallen in love with my family picture books! Mommy & Daddy will catch me looking at pictures and laughing at what I see!
I don't know if I love them so much because I can turn the pages easily, or because they're good to bite down on when I'm teething, or because there's lots of pictures of a certain beautiful baby in them...
But seriously. I love these things now. And maybe I'm so interested in studying up on my family because...
Pop & Mamie, Michael, Cheryl, & Auntie Jill, YOU'RE COMING TO SEE ME ONE WEEK from today!!!

meateaters & mohawks...
Guess what? The past couple of days I've eaten little pieces of real MEAT! (remember I hated the pureed stuff?) Well, the other day I tried some bits of chicken, and here was my first try at eating a meatball!
And I loved it! Yay- I'm officially a meateater! Now if only I could eat that chocolate cake sitting behind me, too...
And speaking of chocolate, the other night Mommy had a chocolate tasting with the two other pastor's wives at our church here! The three of them get together once a month and it has been SO encouraging and fun for Mommy. She really looks up to these ladies.
And how do you like my "mohawk"? :)

baby, it's cold outside...
Well, with Mommy & Daddy back home, things are back to normal around here. Guess who turns 9 months old tomorrow?
But suddenly it has gotten really COLD outside!
Mommy brought home this neat candle with a wood wick on it from her trip. It sounds like a little crackling fire when it's burning, and I must say, I was totally enthralled.
If only they'd let me touch it...
And don't we all sometimes need a little of this at the end of a long, cold day?
I'm feeling warmer already...

cheap entertainment...
Look at my new $2 toy that I absolutely LOVE! Right now I'm pretty much obsessed with any toy that will play music. This one kept me very entertained while Nanny & Papa were here with me this weekend.
Like Mommy said yesterday, I had some separation anxiety the first evening Mommy & Daddy were gone and I decided not to eat my dinner for Nanny, but I figured out pretty quickly that it wasn't a good tactic. Wasn't working to bring Mommy & Daddy home, so I changed my tactic to just looking around the room for them. I still had a GREAT time with my grandparents! And you should've seen how happy I was when Mommy & Daddy came home to me!
I'm on my way to being a concert pianist on this thing. ha ha...
Nanny & Papa, you'll be happy to know that Mommy & Daddy moved the coffee table that was giving me all those little "boo-boo's" & replaced it with a nice, soft ottoman to pull up on! (and fall down against...)
Can't wait 'til you guys come and spoil me again.
