but first I thought I'd share a few of my favorite photos. Don't know why, but I'm in LOVE with all the architectural details you can find just about anywhere in Boston--
on railings...
on gates...
on entryways...

And since this post can't get any more random, how about some flowers from the Boston Public Garden? :) Okay, so here's your 2 trivia questions--

2. What historical event happened on this balcony? And what event continues to happen each year?
No cheating! Let's hear your guesses & we'll give the answers soon enough! More Caroline pics on the way-- we promise!
These are hard...do I get time to study?
ReplyDeletebattle of Bunker Hill. Rebels won
ReplyDeleteRead Declaration of Independence at Fanuell (sp?) Ha
Sorry -- Fanuel Hall
ReplyDeleteI think the British actually won the battle, although we all know who won the war. It was still supposedly a significant loss for the British, though.
ReplyDeleteQuestion #1: My Dad is right- it's the battle of Bunker Hill. But Callie is correct-- the British actually won the battle, but it was such a motivator for the Rebels.
ReplyDelete#2: Dad got it 1/2 way right!-- On that balcony is where the Declaration of Independence was read for the first time upon drafting it, and it is still read every July 4 on that balcony! It wasn't at Fanuel Hall, though-- I forget the name of the building-- it's only a block away from Fanuel Hall & it's some kind of State building.
So congrats to Dad & Callie!
