oink oink...

We've all got the swine flu.

Started when Caroline woke up Sunday morning with a 102 degree fever, and by the end of the day, I (Amy) suddenly started running a fever & felt achy/chilled.... the rest is history.

But what's been wierd about this swine flu thing is that it's made me fluctuate between feeling like I'm fine (besides running a 99.8 fever and coughing up a lung!) and the feeling that I need to be laying on the couch resting. In other words, I would expect that the FLU would completely knock me down, but this time it hasn't. I guess that's why all the pharmacies & public places are telling folks to stay away or wear a mask if you're having ANY respiratory symptoms at all-- because at times, you feel like you CAN get out & carry on as normal.

I think Caroline's fever has stopped (though she amazingly has been in good spirits the entire time), mine is still going but at least now I'm running at about 70%, and then last night Marc's fever came on. (thankfully he'll be getting on Tamaflu)

I've got to get over the guilt of turning my daughter's brain to mush as we watch our 3rd Sesame Street of the day, but I guess we're in survival mode. I think what's so hard is that you sometimes
feel like you can get out or keep the activities you normally have planned (like having RUF tomorrow night at our house, for example), but out of respect for everyone else's health, you know it's best to hunker down and take it easy.

(And build large towers out of legos.)

  4. Bummer about the swine flu! I'm pretty sure I got it last winter, around Jan or Feb. Not certain, but I ran a fever for a week.
I haven't checked up on how the Corbetts are doing in a while, so I thought I'd say hello and I hope all is going well!
Caroline is the cutest, as always! :-)
