I (Amy) just want to say a quick thank you to SO many of you who have been so supportive of us this past week. All of your thoughtful notes, comments, emails, calls, and prayers for us have really meant the world to me. (I'm so sorry I haven't been able to personally answer each one.) And even though Caroline's eyebrows are almost completely gone, I have felt an inner peace and strength since posting the request this week. Since that request, Marc & I have also seen a small row of tiny blonde eyelashes on one eye as well.
I have also spoken to an AWESOME gal named Molly (pictured above with permission) who has struggled with hair loss & regrowth for over 14 years-- hearing her story, her faith, her confidence, her humor & outgoing personality, her candidness, (is that a word?) and her wisdom was SO encouraging to me. It was evident God has used her hair struggle to turn her into an even MORE beautiful person than she already was. (though it's not always pleasant at the time...)
I am praising God for those small glimpses of grace. I know this whole thing is likely going to be a long process-- could be several more months or it could be many, many years, and I'm going to need His grace to endure, especially in the quiet times when all the terrible emotions kick in.
I am convinced the Lord hears the prayers of His people, and He is certainly at work. Especially in my heart.
Thank you again.
(stay tuned for lots more upcoming pics with sweet Caroline... afterall, it's a big BIRTHDAY week around here! So exciting!)
Caroline,
ReplyDeleteWe can hardly wait until Thursday. The Birthday!!!!. Wait until you see the cake!! We hope to see you soon. We are praying for all of you.
Much love,
Nanny & Papa
She's a beautiful girl and I hope you all have a great birthday week. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI must confess, I am a "blog stalker." I am one of the Park's blog followers (I went to high school with both of them). I check in on a few other high school friends' blogs from their blog, but one day (probably a year ago) I stumbled onto yours, mostly out of curiosity (Who is this person who has something new to post almost every day?!). I was overjoyed by your story and beautiful daughter. So, I continued to check in. I just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you. It may be weird to say, but I feel like I know you...a little bit. I can't imagine going through what you are and I really admire and thank you for your willingness to be vulnerable online as well as so obviously trusting in the Lord's great plan for your life. Thank you for your example. Thank you for your witness.
