Video! At last! Here is the adoption ceremony (9 1/2 minutes) at the hospital performed by Amy's dad just before we took Caroline home on Feb. 20, 2008. Sorry the video quality isn't the greatest on here, but we still thought it was worth posting!
You don't know me, but I came across your blog and I am so touched by your story. What an amazing blessing Caroline is. Our son is almost 1 year old and we, too, waited a long, long time for him. Thank you for sharing your touching story.
What a beautiful service and what a special gift. You all have been in my prayers. Remember that you must travel through NC to get from VA to SC. Stop by sometime. I am still in Mom's house until it sells.
Hi, I am a friend of Becky D. (in Texas). My husband and I also adopted a daughter. Adoption is such a blessing from God. I love the video of your adoption ceremony. We do not know Kaylee's birthparents. It is neat that you can keep in touch with Caroline's birthmother. Caroline is just beautiful. It is amazing how God places babies that look like the adoptive parents also. May God continue to bless you. Ranee
The last time I watched this (with you in person), I had to turn away to hide my tears (some sort of antiquated masculine pride required this). It was nice to watch this in the privacy of my own home, where I was free to cry freely. To me, this video is one of the most beautiful human moments ever captured on film... but, then again, I'm biased. :-) -- [Name withheld, but Amy's (sentimental) brother]
Marc & Amy, What a percious gift you've been given in both Caroline & this video. As I'm sure you will...treasure them both! (And I must say you need to mention that for those who haven't watched the video yet, grab a box of tissues FIRST!)
