six days...

Things are rolling along!  Here are a few highlights from today:

The crib was assembled.

Caroline moved into her new and BIGGER room.

Another small army was here all day to help things get ready.   Seriously-- people in and out of the house all day long.  I can't believe how much progress we are making each day thanks to their help.  A simple "thank you" doesn't seem to be enough.  All of these people are FLOODING me with grace-- giving and giving to our family, and I could NEVER make all of this up to them.  It is so humbling!

Measuring for our wall painting project in Jameson's new nursery.  (thanks to the idea of our student who found it first on pinterest...) :)

First, we taped out a design onto a focal wall.

Next we painted over it all with chocolate brown.

Then we pulled off the tapes before it dried...

And.. waalah!  The beginnings of Jameson's nursery!  Because his birthmother is of Haitian descent, we thought it would be neat to bring in some things that would give it a Haitian feel.  As things keep coming together, I'll post more pictures.

Caroline made a countdown chart.  ("Jameson is coming in 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 days.  I am excited for him.  I love him.  I am a big girl.  He is little.")  I think the wait for Jameson is driving her more crazy than anyone.  :)

Oh, sweet little boy.  You have no idea how much you are loved.
But very soon you will.

  2. That wall is fabulous - how did you get the angle of the lines to be the same?

  3. Thanks, guys! Emily, I made a quick cardboard template (with straight sides) that helped us keep the angle pretty consistent.
