R.I.P....
It's a very sad day around our house...
After living through the Reagan, Bush, Clinton, & Bush Jr. years...
Our dishwasher died: 1986- 2008.
May she rest in peace.
She was 22. She washed my bottles during those last days. Daddy was 12 when she began doing dishes. Saturday, he took her out towards her final resting place (currently under the carport...) and worked very hard at resolving the pain in all of our hearts...
...so now, instead of crying, Mommy is rejoicing!

guests!
dancin' shoes...
What ARE these things on my feet that cousin Lala brought me? It feels soooo funny... I've gotta figure this out!
I sure don't know what they are, but suddenly I feel like dancing!
Aunt Sharon, can I have your Pepsi? (okay, just so you'll know, they didn't give me any. I just liked chomping on the glass)
Lala, I loved reading a story with you before bedtime.

ruf baby...
Last night I stayed up way past my bedtime & went to RUF! (wearing "my 1st RUF shirt" made by Alyssa, of course!)
The girls even made me a special nametag!
While Daddy was preaching, Mommy & I hung out on the carpeted floor, and I LOVED staring at myself in the kickplate of the door! (it was like a mirror at my level! cool!) It was a good set-up because if I got fussy, Mommy could take me out that door into the hallway/lobby of the hotel. Amazingly, I made it all the way through Daddy's message without any fussing!
Many of the students liked meeting me, but I think some of the boys in particular, didn't quite know why I was there! But that's okay! I LOVED seeing all these new smiling faces! And Mommy & Daddy wanted the students to meet me. (poor people... they don't yet understand what a celebrity I am, do they!?) ;-)

cause & effect...
Hey everybody!
I hit another milestone! I just figured out that when I kick these hangy-down things on my toy, the music starts playing! Then when it gets quiet, I have to kick it to get it to start up again! Cause & effect, baby.... it's a VERY important lesson in life. :)
How cute is my bunny towel!?!
And in a screaming competition, who do YOU think can shrill louder?

sweet potatoes...
Here's the moment of truth!... will I like 'em?
Of course! I love 'em!
So my food "repetoire" is now: rice cereal, oatmeal, green beans, squash, peas, & sweet potatoes! (just in case you were wondering, our doctor has me going through the vegetables first before I start fruits)
And here's a little sneak peek of tomorrow's blog... :)

happy birthday, daddy...
Happy 34th birthday, Daddy! You were born at exactly the same minute in the day as I was: 11:48am!
You told me that I was the best birthday gift you have ever gotten.
And I'm thankful that Pastor Mike & Janice came over while I was sleeping tonight so you & Mommy could slip out for a nice italian dinner together!
And speaking of dinner, tomorrow I get to try sweet potatoes!!! (Peas were a hit, by the way... can you believe it?! So far, we're batting 100%... if it's food, I'll take it!)

ouch!
Look! I can sit up on my own now!
Well, except for when I occasionally lose my balance and hit my sweet little head on the floor. :( It hurts!
Fortunately, Mommy & Daddy are there to console me, and I'll get stronger & better at it with time.
Oh, and Nanny, you did a FANTASTIC job at sewing Mommy's curtains on the small windows downstairs! They turned out great & look like they're custom made! Thank you!

dracula...
My 4th tooth is here, guys! Still no top front teeth. Nope, it's the fang tooth on the other side, so Mamie said I'll be ready for Halloween with 2 fang teeth up top & 2 bottom teeth! ha!
I'm starting to use a sippy/trainer cup to drink my formula sometimes!
Remember Mommy making the green beans the other day & putting them in the ice cube trays? Well, here they are! When it's time to eat them, Mommy can just pop out a cube & heat it up!
Mommy's longtime friend, Cathy, was in Richmond for a conference last week, and we were happy she drove over to Lynchburg & spent a night with us! God has been so good to bring us so many family & friends to visit over the last month as we're still trying to adjust to a new place & struggle with loneliness at times.
