texas and virginia...

Yesterday we said goodbye to some house guests who were from none other than... TEXAS! (can you believe it?) They were friends/relatives of one of our RUF gals & they needed a place to stay. We really loved getting to know them and having them stay with us for a couple of days.

These Texans spoke our language. :)

And I don't know if we told you guys this, but as much as we deeply miss Texas, Mommy's New Year's resolution for 2009 is to "embrace Virginia!" She wants to travel throughout the Commonwealth, learn more about her history, & soak up all things Virginia! :)

So to help Mommy get started on this, her friend (Carrie) jokingly sent her some Virginia post cards today with interesting facts about the state! (As you can see, I was studying up on it too.)

And can you guess what fact #1 was? (I really liked this one myself!) The official beverage of Virginia?

MILK.

  2. Wow! That was a GREAT link! Virginia has much to boast about. Some things I didn't know/realize:

    1) 1/2 the people in the US live within a 500 mile radius of the capital of Virginia.

    2) Over 2,200 of the 4,000 Civil War battles were fought in Virginia.

    3) We are the "internet capital of the world"????

    4) Virginia has had 3 capital cities-- can you name 'em without looking?

I am loving her more already.

  3. Do you all know what we like about VA? Caroline lives there. That's what Papa says. We like to visit so we can see Caroline (and Mom & Dad). Hope to see you next week. Counting the hours.

    Love Ya,

    Nanny & Papa
