thank you...

I'm not usually one to talk about money, you know, but I couldn't help it this time! Most of you know that our family lives by raising support (like foreign missionaries) for the RUF ministry here in Lynchburg. (to be more specific, there is a total ministry budget that we are 100% responsible for raising from individuals and churches, and our salary & benefits come out of that overall budget) So, because of the downward turn of the economy mixed with trying to gain a support team of givers for this new ministry, it's not a huge surprise that our financial giving has been down the last several months since we moved. There was still money in the bank, but we were not taking in enough to cover our ministry budget some months, so we were watching the money begin to drain out of the account.

And to be honest, we were starting to feel a bit discouraged.

But praise God! We put out the message to our supporters as well as our local church here in Lynchburg, and in December, we received more than DOUBLE our necessary monthly funds in end-of-the-year gifts! What a blessing! God is so faithful to us, even as we sometimes struggle to believe that He will provide for us.

So since many of you who read our blog are also supporters of our ministry, here's a big THANK YOU from our family! Wow-- we've got the best support team out there! We are so grateful that you allow us the blessing to live in Lynchburg and be able to serve, minister to, and be a home-away-from-home for these college students through the ministry of RUF. Thank you for praying for us as a family, and continue to pray that God would work powerfully in students' hearts and lives this semester! Thank you again!

  2. God always makes a way. After 60 yrs. we have never been left without what we need to survive, not what always we wanted.
